Somerville Place

This program is open to all eligible individuals.  All USC Housing and USC Residential Education programs and activities are operated consistent with the University’s Notice of Non-Discrimination.  Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex*, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or any other prohibited factor. *In accordance with federal law, the University does provide separate living and bathroom facilities for individuals based on sex/gender.  The University also offers voluntary gender-inclusive housing options.

Somerville Place named after John and Vada Somerville, graduates of the USC School of Dentistry, is a special interest living learning community focused on exploring African-American culture and history and the larger global diaspora. Somerville Place promotes intellectual development, providing opportunities for leadership and connecting to a legacy of scholars. This community is a living experience open to all students who have an interest in Black and African American history, culture, and social and contemporary issues. South Residential College (Pardee Tower) is home to our first-year experience.
