RA Training and Development

Emerging RA Development is a 4-5 week training course that allows new and returning RAs to meet other RAs, learn about the RA position, hone their leadership skills, and learn more about Residential Education.  RAs are required to sign up for one eRAd class, which will meet at the same day and time during weeks 8-12 of the Spring Semester.   More details will be available during the RA info sessions. Attendance is mandatory.

Student Leadership Development is an extensive two-week training where RAs and RHA members learn more about themselves, the expectations of an RA, and the ins-and-outs of the RA position.  RAs will also learn about our campus resources that will be crucial for RAs to successfully assist residents with various situations.  SLD starts 2 ½ weeks before Move-In Day, consists of virtual training modules and in-person sessions, is designed to be participatory, and attendance is mandatory.

RAs return the Thursday before Spring semester classes begin to welcome back our residents and to greet our new spring admit and transfer residents.  Attendance is mandatory.
