Emerging RA Development is a five-week training course that allows new and returning RAs to meet other RAs, learn about the RA position, hone their leadership skills, and learn more about Residential Education. RAs are required to sign up for one eRAd class, which will meet at the same day and time during weeks 8-12 of the Spring Semester. More details about the class will be available during the RA info sessions. Attendance is mandatory.
Student Leadership Development is an extensive two-week training where RAs and RSG members learn more about themselves, the expectations of an RA, and the ins-and-outs of the RA position. RAs will also meet our campus resources who will be crucial for RAs to successfully assist residents with various situations. SLD starts 2 ½ weeks before Move-In Day, is designed to be participatory, and attendance is mandatory.
Winter RA Development is a two-day training where our RAs will get rejuvenated and energized for the Spring Semester. During wRAD, we focus on deepening our staff’s understanding of diversity, inclusion, and social justice. wRAd occurs the Thursday and Friday before Spring Semester starts and attendance is mandatory.
