Residential Education Team

Under the leadership of the Director for Residential Education, the Office for Residential Education includes eight Assistant Directors (ADs), 14 Residential College/Community Coordinators (RCCs), 9 Graduate Residential College/Community Coordinators (GRCCs), and 206 Resident Assistants (RAs).  Additionally, our department includes 23 Faculty in Residence who live with their families within the Residential Colleges and apartments.


The Leadership Team provides direct oversight for the Office for Residential Education by setting vision, supervising the Senior Staff, and ensuring that all facets of our daily work align with the mission of the department, the Division of Student Affairs, and USC.


Senior Staff within the Office for Residential Education are comprised of Residential College/Community Coordinators (RCCs) and Graduate Residential College/Community Coordinators (GRCCs).  Residential College/Community Coordinators are full-time, professional staff who have received their Master’s degree in College Student Affairs or a related field. Graduate Residential College/Community Coordinators are graduate students from varying Master’s programs at USC, who work part-time for the Office for Residential Education. The Senior Staff have the responsibility of overseeing a Residential College or Residential Community which includes direct supervision of the Resident Assistant Staff, advising Building Government, resolving conflict through mediation and the Residential Review process, developing community through programming, and serving on department committees.


The Resident Assistant (RA) role is a student leadership position for undergraduate or graduate students interested in working with residents on campus as a mentor, role model and resource. Responsibilities include: Programming, Emergency Response, Counseling and Advising, Leadership, Policy Enforcement, Upholding Community Standards and Implementing our Community Engagement Model, Communication, Staff Team Development, Administration, Collaboration with Campus Departments, and Professionalism.
