The Assistant Director (AD) position is a full-time, live-in professional staff member who plays an integral role in creating a residential life program that encourages student and community engagement.   ADs are responsible for the development of a supportive living and learning environment within an assigned residential area ranging in size from 2000 to 3500 residents.  This position performs a variety of important daily operation tasks including supervision of professional staff, adjudicating residential and campus judicial cases, managing an area budget, serving as a liaison to housing, providing oversight for Residential Education committees, and serving on divisional committees or task forces.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree required
  • Work Experience: minimum of four years of post-Master work experience
  • Supervision Experience: minimum of four years of supervisory experience

Compensation:  

  • Salary: $64,000/year
  • Live-In Accommodations: furnished 2 bedroom apartment and partial meal package
  • Benefits: full USC benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement
  • PetsADs are allowed to have one dog or cat (see pet policy)
  • Professional Development: we believe professional development (both professional and positional) is very important to the AD position
    • Funds: every AD receives $1,500/year
    • ResEd committees: opportunity to chair multiple ResEd committees
    • Divisional committees: opportunity to participate on Student Affairs committees
