Residential Experience

Residential Colleges

Residential Colleges are the communities where students form strong connections during their first year at USC. They are often the place where students find their first friends, and feel like they belong as they get to know the campus.

First-Year Students – Residential Colleges

Every first-year student moves into a Residential College when they get to USC. There, they form strong connections by participating in events organized by the Resident Assistants and Residential Faculty,  become an integral member of their community through their interactions with their peers, and bridge the classroom experience by taking the learning to conversations over dinner with faculty and attending presentations by guest speakers, participating in community service, and utilizing campus resources that are made available in their Residential College lobby.

Second-Year Residential Colleges

Designed specifically to focus on thematic living, each Residential College’s theme is incorporated into the intentional interactions and programming between residents and the ResEd staff and faculty. While their home will always be with their First-Year Residential College, these thematic living options will afford residents the ability to thrive in their second year.

Residential Communities

While each residential community is unique, all provide residents with programming targeted specifically to resident needs and interests as well as the support and mentorship of undergraduate, graduate and professional staff members.
