Bio + Fun Facts:
Dr. Broderick Leaks is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences with a secondary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Leaks also serves as the Director of Counseling and Mental Health Services at USC Student Health. In addition to his administrative roles, Broderick provides individual and group psychotherapy to the student population at USC. Furthermore, Dr. Leaks provides training and supervision to mental health trainees and facilitates a weekly Diversity Dialogues seminar that aims to create a space for the trainees to explore their own cultural identity and its impact on their clinical work. Dr. Leaks also teaches a USC Freshman Seminar course, Foundations of Self, that explores identity development, leadership, and cultural analysis with an emphasis on the African American male experience. Prior to serving as Director, Dr. Leaks was the Assistant Director/training Director and formerly served as the Counseling and Mental Health Services’ liaison for the USC Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs (CBCSA). In addition, Broderick was a liaison and supervisor for the USC Asian Pacific American Student Services (APASS) Peer Mentor Program. Dr. Leaks received his BA in Psychology from Baylor University with a minor in Business Administration, a MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary’s Graduate School of Psychology.
