Honoring Native Lands
Residential Education acknowledges that USC is located on the ancestral and unceded lands of the Tongva and Kizh Nation–Gabrieleño peoples, the traditional caretakers of the Los Angeles Basin. We also recognize the neighboring Tribal Nations whose ancestral homelands extend throughout Southern California.
We pay our respects to the elders and community members of these Nations, past, present, and future, and honor their enduring stewardship of these lands. We invite our community to reflect on the histories and ongoing legacies of Indigenous stewardship, colonization, displacement, migration, and settlement that bring us together today.
