Bio + Fun Facts:
Dr. Trisha Tucker is an Associate Professor (Teaching) of Writing in the Thematic Option Honors Program, where she also serves as the Head of Writing Instruction. She teaches classes on banned books, depictions of evil children in literature and film, and the novels you absolutely must read before you die. Dr. Tucker grew up in Phoenix, AZ and Cherry Hill, NJ. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in English; her specialties include nineteenth-century British literature, women’s popular writing, Evangelicalism, and secularization. Dr. Tucker’s previous career was in journalism, writing articles about film, fashion, and the travel industry. In her off hours, she enjoys taking long walks with her husband Rick (a filmmaker, graphic novelist, and fellow Trojan), snuggling with their dog Pugsly, and reading lots and lots of books. Joining the Faculty in Residence program has been one of the greatest adventures of her career. She loves talking to her McCarthy residents in the hallways and hosting lots of fun and educational programs—including dinners, film screenings, karaoke nights, and monthly “Third Thursday with Faculty” events—to enhance a sense of community in the building.
