Ilium Residential College

Ilium Residential College

Ilium Residential College will house Sophomore Honors students come fall 2018. Ilium will be a vibrant, tight-knit community of scholars who share a commitment to rigorous intellectual and academic achievement. Ilium will build upon the experience the Honors student had during their freshmen year in McCarthy. Students will engage in programs and conversations that promote innovative thinking and challenge them to explore all branches of knowledge. Students living in Ilium will have direct contact with Faculty in Residence as well as other faculty, staff, and experts across disciplines. Unique experiences in this Residential College will include connecting students to research opportunities as well as focusing on community building and the holistic development of high achieving students in their second year at USC. Ilium Residential College will create a peer network of student scholars who are successful in balancing involvement in academic and social activities.

Residential College Coordinator
Cowlings & Ilium Residential Colleges

Erin Ash received a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s in college student affairs leadership from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She loves working with the passionate and driven students at USC and enjoys that each day brings new challenges and opportunities to both teach and learn from her students. She takes a lot of pride in being a resource, mentor, advocate, and sounding board for her residents and the RAs in the department. She works to ensure that every member of the residential community transitions seamlessly, makes the most of their college experience both inside and outside of the classroom, feels a sense of belonging on campus, and learns the value of living with authenticity, passion, resilience and empathy. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring LA, hiking, photography, evening runs, live music, bonfires, documentaries, and all things Wisconsin.
