Residential College Coordinator

Corey Lueker is the Residential Area Supervisor for Trojan-Marks within the South Residential College. Corey was raised in Arizona and studied Journalism and English Literature at The University of Arizona, where he also spent three years as a Resident Assistant. Corey is a first-generation college student, and recognized the value of having mentors and student affairs staff members available for students in transition, therefore he decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut. UCONN brought many great experiences, including watching the basketball team win three NCAA national championships, but Corey decided to move back home to the Southwest and has spent two years as a Trojan at USC. His favorite aspects of living in Los Angeles are the natural environment and the weather, as he is a huge outdoors activity enthusiast. Corey is also a geek culture fanatic and has interests in comic books, super heroes, science fiction, and popular culture. During his free time, Corey is a blog writer and enjoys writing fictional stories. He also has a strong interest in Social Justice and Inclusion education, and has spent the last few years focusing on research related to Gender Role Conflict and gender performance.

Amanda (AJ) Volk

Graduate Residential College Coordinator

Amanda “AJ” Volk is serving as a Graduate Residential College Coordinator for the South Residential College and is pursuing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at USC. She was born and raised on Vancouver Island on the West Coast of British Columbia, Canada. She completed her post-secondary education at Saint Joseph’s College (Go Pumas) in Indiana while pursuing her passion for soccer. This past year AJ graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Minors in Chemistry and Health Therapy. She also worked as an RA for two years in addition to serving as the Secretary of the Student Association. This will be AJ’s first year as a GRCC and she is very excited to be working with freshmen and helping them transition into college life as a Trojan. AJ is a West Coast girl at heart and loves anything to do with the beautiful Pacific Ocean and Disneyland. She loves soccer, country music, hiking, anything Starbucks, Grey’s Anatomy and watching hockey eh! AJ is ready to be back on the West Coast exploring the wonders of California and is looking forward to meeting you all!

GOGustavo Orellana

Graduate Residential College Coordinator

Gustavo Orellana will be serving as a Graduate Residential College Coordinator for South Residential College. He is pursuing his Masters in Education in Post-Secondary Administration and Student Affairs at USC Rossier. He is originally from Concord, California located in Northern California, and he attended UC Santa Barbara where he was a Resident Assistant for two years. After graduating with a degree in Chicano Studies, he worked professionally as an Assistant Resident Director for three years and as a Resident Director for the Academy of Art University for a year and a half. He is passionate about educational policy and the effects it has on access and retention of first generation college students like himself. When not submerged in academics, he enjoys being active at the gym, playing futbol and spending time outdoors.
